Sitting here I’m reminded of the seasons. We’re in the midst of draught like heat and the past few weeks have taken their toll on crops and life. Last night the news reported record prices for corn as many of this years crops have wilted away. Yet soon enough the fall will arrive.
Joe and Cayce registered for high school today. Joe will be a senior and Cayce a high school freshman. Both entering new seasons of life. This summer Joe spent 3+ weeks with Crossroads Farm in Hillsdale MI. His friend Josh joined him for part of the time. The pictures below tell a story don't they??? These guys have been friends for a long time even though they’ve been in separate states for the past 12 years. Seasons come and seasons go.
As we vacationed in Michigan I was mindful of the seasons of life as we tried to be of help for my parents. Age is no respecter. As far as I know there is only one alternative to growing older. Seasons come and seasons go.
As we approach this fall at StoneBridge we’ve been weathering some changes and a different season of ministry. We’re no longer the “new” church. It was six years ago this September StoneBridge held it’s first public worship service. Some things are new, some the same.
Friends as I write this remember this...we will always live in a state of flux. Seasons come and seasons go.
But our Lord is our one constant to which we cling!
Hebrews 13:5-6 says
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
